RESOURCES FROM THIS WEEK'S SERMON: TEACHING THE BIG 10 TO OUR KIDS & HOW TO PRAY FOR YOUR PASTORS

Moses' sin was severely judged by God such that he could not enter the promised land (Deut. 3.27, 28).  James makes it plain that leaders, especially teachers, will be judged with greater strictness (James 3.1).  In light of that, our pastors and leaders need your prayers!  Here are  a couple of links to encourage you in this vital ministry!

Then in Deut. 4:9-10, Moses urges the teaching of God's Words, especially the 10 commandments, to children. Here are a couple of resources to help you in that task:

1. this site has a short devotional on each of the 10 commandments http://www.ligonier.org/learn/keywords/ten-commandments/?type=devotional&sort=

2. The Righteous Shall Live by Faith - Family Devotional Guide This 13-week family devotional guide provides six days of devotional ideas per week, plus ideas for a weekly Family Night Activity. How to pray like Martin Luther (via the 10 commandments!)

In A Simple Way to Pray, Martin Luther described how he uses the Ten Commandments as a guide in his prayer life:

divide each commandment into four parts, thereby fashioning a garland of four strands.
That is, I think of each commandment as:
first, instruction, which is really what it is intended to be, and consider what the Lord God demands of me so earnestly.
Second, I turn it into a thanksgiving;
third, a confession;
and fourth, a prayer.
